Ice and a slice at Ginchester Fete

“Indulge in a little bit of what you fancy as often as you can.” That’s what Gary Whiter, co-founder of Winchester’s Cabinet Rooms, believes.

Gary and Marcus Roe, the two bearded gentlemen, as they’ve become known, are kicking off the Summer with Ginchester Fête, a celebration of all things gin, which comes to the Great Hall on World Gin Day, 10 June. Tickets cost £10 and include a drink on arrival.

A passion for cocktails and locally-produced fine fare of all kinds led the dynamic duo to create Winchester Cocktail Week and ongoing pop-up gastronomic evenings. Now, with a permanent home on Jewry Street, Cabinet Rooms offers a mix of fun and flavour, with year-round discovery events.

“Ginchester Fête offers locals the chance to not only sample the very best Winchester-made gin, including the likes of Twisted Nose from Winchester Distillery, but also to enjoy Silver Back gin from Four Marks and others from further afield, with all the fun of a quintessential English summer fête,” Gary says.

“City people have a real appreciation for artisan fare, and this event, like all our others, offers top-notch food and drink appreciation in a fun and lively way, making it accessible to all.”
